How lucky am I that I’m able to hop on PATCO anytime and visit one of the greatest cities - Philadelphia! This painting is an emotional reflection on the ideals and promises of what the American flag means to me. As a third-generation American with ancestry from England, Russia and Poland, I was taught to respect my neighbors and welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds. My memories of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance each morningin school evoke a deep sense of pride, particularly as the daughter of a World War II veteran; I am aware of the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces to safeguard our freedoms. We must ensure that no one redefines the symbolism of our flag - a representation of Liberty and Justice for All. Today, I hold on to that pride, reminding myself that this is STILL OUR FLAG.

If you're from South Jersey, you know there's nothing like GIANT RUTGERS JUICY JERSEY BEEFSTEAK TOMATOES! When I was a kid, it seemed like everybody was growing tomatoes in their backyard! And of course, the South Jersey summer rite of passage was the JERSEY TOMATO SANDWICH: thick slices of perfectly ripe, locally grown tomatoes, slathered with creamy mayonnaise and layered on soft white bread! Mmm-Mmm!

With this piece, I wanted to capture the Battleship New Jersey not just as steel, but as the eternal guardian of the Delaware River. This painting stands as a heartfelt tribute honoring the 45,000 sailors and the thousands of shipbuilders who served on the nation’s most decorated battleship. The "Big J" stands not as a relic of the past, but as an eternal, watchful guardian—a living, vibrant museum and memorial protecting the history, culture, and creative future of the Delaware Valley.

If you're from South Jersey you know about the legend of the Jersey Devil. Personally, I had an older brother who terrified me with stories about the 'Devil' all the time! Let's just say I always slept with a night light and wasn't a big fan of camping in the Pine Barrens. This is my image of the Jersey Devil, straight out of my nightmares growing up as a kid.

This painting captures the essence of Beautiful Sunset Beach in Cape May, a picturesque shore town in South Jersey. This artwork is a personal interpretation of a sentimental sunset that holds a special place in my memory. It is worth noting that in South Jersey and Philadelphia, locals use the jargon, "Going down the shore," to describe their trips to the beach, rather than the more generic "Going to the beach." This iconic phrase is used to refer to any coastal vacation town in New Jersey, regardless of its geographical location. Once you arrive at your destination and unpack, you can then say "To the beach" to head to the sand.
